However, i simply do not have tons of valuable stuff that I am selling. You might start thinking that you could buy something cheap and then sell it for a higher price. This means that instead of selling items across the country, or across the world, you have to sell to someone around the city where you live. This seriously limits your potential customers. One last problem with Craigslist is that people will try to offer you really low amounts of money for an item. Everything on there is negotiable. For example if you are trying to sell a car for $10,000 a person may try to offer you $3500. Craigslist can be a great place to make sales, but you must use caution and care before making a purchase or sale on there. Now eBay, on the other hand, is a much safe place. Everything is shipped and eBay itself helps protect buyers and sellers from financial risk. Plus your item can be sold all across the world, so your market is HUGE. Now the downside of all this assistance and protection is that you have to pay for it. eBay charges you a fee for items that you sell on there. This is how they make there money. The fee is usually based upon how expensive the item your selling it. This fee gets charged to your PayPal account after sales are completed. Not only that, but you actually pay fees twice. The reason is because all eBay transactions take place through PayPal. PayPal charges you a fee on money that you receive so that is 2 fees right off the top. If that wasn't bad enough you also have to deal with listing fees. eBay will charge you money based upon how many pictures you have, how long the auction is for, and several other options. All these costs combined make it very difficult for you to buy items and then sell them for a profit on eBay. Yes this is one of the easiest ways out there when learning how to make side income, but I do not recommend this as the main method of making money online.
Affiliate Marketing- Affiliate Marketing is a term you may not have heard of. In fact it has been around for awhile. The way it works is very simple. You promote another persons product. When the product sells you receive a commission. Now usually these are not the largest amounts of money and that is why I did not start this at first when I was learning how to make side income. I then later realized that there is a way I could earn 50-75 percent commission. This is by selling digital products. The reason you can earn so much money is because a digital product doesn't cost anything to replicate so 1000 copies can be sent out without increasing cost. This means that all money is profit. I am ashamed to say it, but I didn't make anything when I first started. That is because I made several major mistakes that I have since learned from and no longer worry about anymore. Affiliate marketing is now the main method I use to make money online. When I was learning how to make side income I was scared because I felt it would be work. Yes it is some work. However, there is nothing for free out there. As long as you do not mind spending some time each night doing a little work then you can do this.
