Making Money As An Affiliate - The Basics

Most people who make a living online do it through offering products or services. They may create and market their own products, or they may work as an affiliate and promote the products of others. In many ways, affiliate marketing is considered easier and more profitable than creating your own products or marketing a service.

How Affiliate Marketing Works

If you want to be an affiliate marketer, there are two approaches. One is to create your blog or website first and then look for products to promote; the other is to focus on one product to sell, and to create a site for it afterwards.

With the first approach, you would create a blog or website around a popular and profitable niche. Over time, you'd add content to the site and drive traffic to it. Once it has lots of visitors and a loyal fan base, you would then start offering products that your audience would enjoy.

The second approach is even quicker and easier. This method involves finding a product first that is popular, profitable and offers a good commission. You would then build a 'mini-site' around it and drive traffic to that site. This is a method that generates lots of short-term sales fast and it's generally easier than building a long-term fan base.

The Pros And Cons

Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to make money online. You don't have to create any products yourself; you simply create your site, get traffic, and then point them to the product. When they buy the product through your site, you get a commission. Once everything is set up and automated, you can sit back and watch the money roll in.

The main downside is that it doesn't provide a stable, long-term income. Creating your own digital products is a much better way to ensure sales over a long period of time. People will always keep buying it as long as it's useful to them.

There can also be complications in dealing with merchants and affiliate networks. Unlike selling your own product, you're not in control. Some merchants do unscrupulous things like install 'leaks' that make money from your traffic without paying out a commission.

What It Takes To Be A Great Affiliate Marketer

Your main skill as an affiliate marketer is the ability to generate massive traffic. If you know how to create a good sales page and drive traffic to it, you'll get sales without doing much of anything more.

You also need to spend some time doing research beforehand. You have to research your niche, your market, the products available, and the affiliate network(s) you're going to use. This takes quite a bit of work but it saves you from creating unsuccessful marketing campaigns.

Most of all, you need to have an adventurous spirit. You'll learn most of what works and doesn't work through trial and error. When things go wrong, you'll need to bounce back. You also have to stay current on changes in laws and policies that affect affiliate marketing. However, if you're up for it, this is a really easy way to make money online.

How to Crush It With Facebook Ads

It seems there are a lot of people out there that have a negative view of using pay-per-click advertising to build their list. Paid advertising is in fact one of the BEST ways to authentically and rapidly build your list with highly qualified and motivated leads. But, you have to be willing to pay. So, as an Internet marketer, I strongly feel that online ads are an integral part of any marketing campaign. It's our duty (and sometimes a challenge) to design ads that catch the user's attention and get them to click on it. It's as simple as that. One of the more popular places where online ads have been growing in popularity is on Facebook. The social networking site has over 750 million users - which demonstrates a massive reach when it comes to offering your services into new markets. Thus, it makes sense that Internet marketers have been using Facebook as another platform (along with Google AdWords) to extend their marketing campaign. But, there is a catch. What is the...
