Should Affiliate Marketers Use Forum Marketing?

ByMichael Cervantes
In our previous articles, we've been covering some low-cost ways to generate traffic to your website including SEO, article marketing, and guest blogging. In today's article, we would like to take a moment and discuss the benefits of using forum marketing to get more traffic to your website.
Forum marketing has been around for a long time, and because of this many people tend to underestimate its value. So many people are hooked on looking for the latest craze and forget about the fundamentals of Internet marketing and traffic generation. It's certainly not the only way to get traffic, and you're definitely free to explore the latest trends in social media marketing or anything else for that matter. Nevertheless, we think you should definitely consider forum marketing as one of the tools in your traffic arsenal.
Like so many of the topics we've been discussing so far, the general concept is pretty simple to understand and just requires some work and execution. The general idea behind forum marketing is that you become a contributing member of a popular discussion forum in your niche and build a reputation as someone who is knowledgeable and willing to help others. Along the way, you can include a link to your website in your signature beneath all of your forum posts, and anyone who's interested can visit your website for more information.
Now, there are definitely some pitfalls that you should be aware if you're going to use this traffic method. First of all, you need to make sure that you read and understand the guidelines for any particular forum. Some of these websites are very strict about what you can include in your signature and whether or not you can include any sales or commercial information in your posts.
You'll probably find that some of these websites are very strict and are simply not worth your time because they don't want you to mention your website in your signature file. Nevertheless, you should be able to find some discussion forums in your niche that you can use effectively.
The key to this method is to make sure to post helpful, informative comments without trying to sell anything directly in your post itself. As you gain credibility and exposure, some of the website members will notice your signature and will click on the link for more information.
This is one of those methods that can take a long time to show big results, so you definitely don't want to put all of your eggs into one basket. In some really popular forums in the internet marketing niche, for example, you may have to write hundreds of posts (if not more) to get noticed, so you might easily have to devote a half hour or more a day for several months in order to achieve maximum results.

How To Set Up A Successful Pay-Per-Click Campaign

If you are familiar with Pay-Per-Click ads, then you know that these types of paid search marketing work by putting ads on the side bar of your search engine or web site and are used to bring people to your web site. The concept is pretty simple. You create an ad.You place a price upon its worth. And you submit it to a search engine. When someone clicks on that ad, you are charged a price for it and they end up on your web site. You only have to pay if someone clicks on it. Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it? But now for the tricky question. Are you getting your money's worth from these ads? Ninety-nine percent of the businesses that use this type of advertising do not understand it. They send people to their home page and don't even know why the person came there in the first place. What's worse is the person who cost you that advertising cost leaves without you ever knowing what they were looking for. How much does this cost you each month? Does this mean that you...
