We are constantly being told that the way to successful online marketing is to be an affiliate. Well I am sure this is a true statement as the sums traded online are at first glance staggering. Yet if we look at the amount of money that is spent/invested on learning how to become a success, whether it is on ebooks, home study courses, tutorials, seminars, etc, that figure too is truly amazing. So, are we now over run with millionaire affiliate marketers? I think not.
This therefor begs the question, why is it that so much money is spent on so much information with apparently little achieved? The first big problem with anything linked to the internet is that generally, people expect instant response, you click here, click there, and hey presto you have completed your online shopping, paid your bills, paid your credit cards, and contacted family and friends with updates. Establishing and running an online business is different, it is a bit like the old days, where you have to spend time, thought, and planning to make it work.
As mentioned earlier, millions are spent each year on acquiring knowledge to become successful, and this brings me to the second reason for the lack of success, information overkill, it is so easy to become bogged down learning here, taking advice there, it soon becomes impossible to know exactly what the first, or next step should be. So how is this overcome? The answer is to decide on a path, be it a study course, tutorials, or whatever your particular choice is, and stick to it, do not deviate, if you get frustrated and change from one line of instruction to another you will soon get overwhelmed with different lines of information. This is not to say that the information is contradictory, just that there are many ways to achieve the same goals.
The other main reason people do not find success is, people do not take action. They have spent hundreds, if not thousands on every ebook/course on the market, and yet there they are still not up and running, mind you there are always lots of reasons why, but realistically, the main reason is, lack of confidence, a fear of failing, all the time you do nothing, you have hope, and something to look forward to, if you try, and fail, you have lost everything. The truth is, unless you try, and fail, and try again, and again, how will you ever learn to be successful? Every successful business has failures. The only way to learn how to swim, is to jump in, i look forward to seeing you in the water.
