Have you thought of starting your affiliate marketing business but are totally confused and don't know where to start your journey. Don't worry I found myself in the same position two years ago when I was looking for ways to start an online business. Affiliate marketing is one of the best options to look at if you want to start making money on the internet. It gives you the opportunity to promote other peoples products without having to have your own product or website.

All you need is to sign up at an affiliate program and get your own unique affiliate ID and then you are ready to go. One of the best places to start is ClickBank.com. Although they only have digital downloadable products like e-books and software programs to promote, it probably is the best place to start. The advantage of promoting these products is, that you don't have to keep any inventory or stock. People can have immediate access to the product after purchasing, this enable you to receive your commission much faster.

After deciding what product or niche you want to focus on you will want to start with the promotion. This is where the hard work comes in and where 95% of affiliate marketers throw in the towel. The most important thing to remember is not to try and use more than one advertising method at a time. Whether it is classified advertising, forum marketing, article marketing or any other method you choose. First become good at one method and then move on to the next one. The most important decision to make before you start with your promotion is whether you want to use paid advertising or free advertising. When I started I did not have any money to spend on paid advertising so I picked every free method I could find. Of all the free methods I have tried I have found that article marketing works the best for me.

All these methods are FREE methods that I use to test the waters on a new product. Many times I have made sales from my Squidoo lenses. This method is a very effective way to make money without spending a single cent on advertising.

The single most important thing that you want to achieve with your advertising is getting the product in front of as many people as possible. With the methods I use I get first page ranking on Google and my lenses get indexed within 24 hours. This is the most important thing in your whole advertising effort to get your lens on the first page of Google for that specific keyword phrase.
